Action
for Social Advancement (ASA), formed in 1996 by a group of
development professionals, is a non profit development organization,
registered under the Indian Charities Act, namely Gujarat Societies
Registration Act and the Bombay Public Trust Act.
Our Mission
Ensuring
livelihoods for 3 million poor people through providing
developmental services by 2015.
Our Vision
ASA's approach to development is firmly founded upon participatory
action at the community level. At the heart of the organization is
the aim of developing livelihood security which is facilitated by an
intensive participatory process of natural resources development and
local institutional development. Particular emphasis is placed upon
the poor and women.
What we do
We
work directly with over 120000 poor families in more than 1000
villages implementing various rural development programs, covering
15 districts in M.P and Bihar. Most of the people we work with
belong to tribal and other socially disadvantaged communities.
