ASA's strategy has been to identify the key environmental problems and tackling it head on by adopting a multi-disciplinary and integrated approach. Land and water conservation has been major thrust area in ASA's community based natural resources management program.

Operational Area: 113 villages, nearly 46,963 ha. area under conservation measures.

 Key Results

  • About 52,175 ha. of land has been treated under various soil and moisture conservation measures.
  • About 259 water harvesting structures like checkdams, ponds and more than 800 dug wells have been constructed.
  • 600 ha. of barren common land, has been naturally regenerated 
  • More than 145 watershed development committees, User's groups at the village level formed and developed.
